Roundabout and one-way plan for Largs town centre
The latest version of Largs traffic management plan has been unveiled and includes a limited one way system and a new roundabout in the town centre.
The taxi rank moves to the railway station side of the Main Road with provision for nine spaces, while the taxi island will moved further inwards to allow a double bus parking bay, while Hyndman Green is going to be converted into a car park with an entrance and exit. Proposals for a one-way system have been reduced to include a one way in Waterside Street, and Bellman’s Close into Lade Street and Gallowgate Lane.
There will be a loss of car parking next to the bus stop outside the Bagel Basket in order to allow buses to pull in directly to the bus stop. Tron Place will be more limited in use with disabled parking and loading and unloading for businesses only.
