The Catholic Church in Millport, Isle of Cumbrae: “Our Lady of Perpetual Succour,” celebrated its Golden Jubilee on Sunday, 22nd June.

The joyous occasion began with a Mass being celebrated at 12 midday. The Mass was concelebrated by Bishop John Cunningham, Bishop of the Diocese of Galloway; Bishop

Maurice Taylor; Monsignor Joseph Boyd, who was once the parish priest and Fr. Eamonn Flynn, the present parish priest of both St. Mary’s, Largs and Our Lady of Perpetual Succour.

Special guests included representatives from the Cathedral of the Isles Episcopalian Cathedral, from the Church of Scotland Parish Church in Millport and from North Ayrshire Council. Alastair Chisholm was the accomplished organist for this very special occasion and the choir sang beautifully.
