Charity worker in Maddie sick joke row

Comment Bubble Comments (1) Printer Print Article

A charity boss from West Kilbride has been suspended over a sick joke about Madeleine McCann.

Senior manager Lynn McBain was suspended earlier this month after referring in a staff newsletter to the 4-year-old girl who went missing from Praia da Luz in Portugal over a year ago.

Some readers were left shocked after she joked that “McCann oven chips” had disappeared from her oven after she left them there for 20 minutes.

The 10-page booklet for Enable Scotland - who campaign for a better life for children and adults with learning disabilities - also allegedly insulted the family of a woman with learning difficulties, who is a client of the charity.

People like this should not be working as a charity boss, What sort of person is she? who in the right mind would employ and waste charity money to pay this idiot.Who ever has employed her should be sacked.LYN MCBAIN should be sacked under gross misconduct, forget about suspending her she said the idiotic so called joke, also allegedly insulted a family of a women with learning dificulties,Why suspend her and pay her until the investigation is going, why waste good charity money on her.Would she had made the awful joke had it been her own child that had gone missing,I dont think so.She should publicly apologise to Madeliene,s family and to the other family, and keep her nasty comments to herself. The worlds full of nasty people like these,Thank God there are still some decent good people out there, like the real charity workers who do good and help innocent lives and not take the mickey.
