Continental Market and Farmers Market with Craft Fair will be held on the prom beside the Fair and the Viking village from 10am to 6pm.
Friday 5th September
Jimmy Shand Jnr. & his Band, 2 – 4pm.
A mixture of Scottish and Scandinavian music performed by the world-famous band - a performance not to be missed.

8pm - Torchlit procession leaves the village to light the beacon at Aubery to summon help against the Vikings.

Saturday 6th September
The Viking longship “Galgael” will arrive between 11 and 12 noon, weather permitting.
12.30pm for registration - Largs Viking Festival Dog Show. Clark Memorial Hall. Contact Myra Wright on 01475 711314.
1.30pm - A Viking skirmish will take place near the seafront Village around 1:30pm. Last admittance to the Village is 4:00pm
12 noon registration - Skating competition at Mackerston Skate Park. Open to skaters and skateboarders, registration from 12 noon. Registration forms from Tom Marshall 673162, and also at Mackerston ice cream kiosk.
Party at The Pencil
Valhalla Day at The Pencil Monument, Largs 7.30pm - 9.30pm. Admission Free
The explosive climax to the 2008 Viking Festival. The evening begins with a re-enactment of the 1263 battle of Largs. Around 100 Scottish and Norse warriors will take you back in time as they battle on the shores of Largs.
Watch as the Longship is set ablaze by firebrand arrow and makes its final journey to Valhalla. The skies are then lit up with a firework spectacular producing an array of colours and light which will enthrall young and old.

Sunday 7th September
Open Air Church Service at Viking Village 4pm. A Service with “Norse Praise” and a Viking theme at the Viking Village.
Children’s Fun Afternoon from 2pm to 4pm. Events include Face Painting, Circus Skills, Kiddies Corner, Story telling and Games. To be held on the prom near the Viking Village
The Viking Village closes at 5pm until the next Viking Festival in 2009.
