Given the sack ... Postwatch have announced that Fairlie is among 43 post offices closing from November onwards.
There has been a furious reaction to the Postwatch's decision to close Fairlie Post Office with community leaders slamming the move as an 'utter disgrace' - and MSP Kenny Gibson questioning if the move was already a done deal.
Postwatch announced this week that 43 out of 44 post offices earmarked for closure will be axed including Fairlie.
Incensed community council chairman David Telford said: "This is a joke - the whole consultation has been a waste of money. It has just been a token gesture. I don't think they had the slightest intention of changing their minds. The Post Office official at our public meeting didn't even know if she was in Paisley or not. The whole thing was a charade."
For full reaction, see this week's Largs and Millport Weekly News.
