Man had gun and ammo in Seamill
A man has admitted firearms offences at the High Court after he was arrested in a dramatic armed police swoop in Seamill.
Back in January, shocked locals witnessed the 9pm raid, which saw four armed response trucks halting a vehicle close to the Merrick Hotel on the A78.
A special police unit was called in and gave chase to the vehicle after being alerted that its passengers had a gun and ammunition in their possession.
Jason Kane, 22, of West Blackhall Street, Greenock, was arrested just minutes after police had seen him being handed a white-coloured plastic bag by another man.
