Thistle in action.

Largs lost out on penalty kicks to Girvan on Wednesday night after a dramatic affair in south Ayrshire.

This week, manager Sandy McLean looks back across recent games following the 1-1 draw with Clydebank on Saturday.

Thistle found themselves 2-0 down on Wednesday night at half-time but valiantly fought back through a Willie McClure double and a Jamie Marks strike. However, Girvan equalised with two minutes to go and won on penalties 3-2.

Listen below to Sandy's reflections on the recent Clydebank and East Kilbride games...

Just wondering if the Largs committee think the season was a success ? Possible that we will end up in 6th position in the league same as last season or maybe even drop to 7th dependent on results. Although we are 4 points better than last year . Do they regret not giving the job to Robert Alfield and leaving him to build on the team he started with George Wall rather than starting from scratch with Sandy McLean ? What is the expectations for next season ? Any comments Calum ? Any comments from other supporters ?

Well dependant on those results we finished in 5th spot - not 7th. We scored 6 more goals but unfortunately let in two more than last term. So it was a better season from that point of view than the previous one. Would it have been better with Robert - we'll never know. No point in dwelling on it.

For next season I think we have the defence sorted out - it's just finding someone that can hit the back of the net on a regular basis.

As a long suffering supporter I'd just like to get somewhere in the Scottish for a change but I think someone has it in for Largs.....

01-02 Kilwinning (3rd in old Ayrshire Division One)

02-03 Cumnock (Super Premier club)

03-04 Sauchie (quarter finalists)

04-05 Linlithgow (3rd in East Super League)

05-06 Petershill (quarter finalists)

06-07 Neilston (quarter finalists + 4th in Super Premier)

07-08 Linlithgow (cup-holders at the time)
