Comment Bubble Comments (0) Printer Print Article

On Sunday 8th June, Millport Golf Club held a Ladies Open Tri-am. As the last team teed off Alastair Forsyth, European Tour professional and winner of the 2008 Madeira Open arrived unexpectedly.

He had decided to have a practice round at Millport before flying out to play in the US Open this week.

After his round Alastair presented the prizes to the winning team. This really made the day for our annual Ladies Open. If we’d known Alastair would be there we could have doubled the numbers!

Sunday’s Ladies results are as follows: 1st Millport Score 57 Net Millport Team : N Farquharson, M Green & R Gilmour. 2nd Ralston Score 61 Net Ralston Team : E Hutchison, M White & J Brown 3rd Gourock Score 63 Net Gourock Team : E Hanlon, M Rice & J Atwooll.

Alastair Forsyth follows in the footsteps of other famous golfers who have visited Cumbrae including former US Open champion Nick Faldo.
