Fife Regatta schedule

The spectacular sight of the Fife yachts have been assembling in the local bay during recent weeks with racing beginning on Saturday with a race around the Isles of Cumbrae.

The schedule is as follows: Friday 20th - Yachts arrive in Largs, Saturday 21st Racing around the Isles of Cumbrae, berthing at Largs Yacht Haven.

Sunday 22nd Racing from Fairlie to Rhu Marina in the Clyde Race (start 11am) berthing at Largs Yacht Haven, Monday 23rd Lay day Rhu Marina, Tuesday 24th “The Rothesay Race” - Racing from Rhu to Rothesay, Isle of Bute, vessels berthing at Rothesay.

Wednesday 25th Lay day Rothesay Harbour or Rothesay Bay Thursday 26th “The Kyle of Bute Race” - Racing from Tighnabruaich to Largs boat will berth at Largs, and Friday 27th Racing around Largs Channel - boats will berth at Largs Yacht Haven.

The oldest yacht in attendance will be the Gaff Cutter called Ayrshire Lass which dates back to 1887. Other old vessels which date back to the 19th century.

A spokesperson for the Fife Regatta said: “We hope that many people will be able to come and enjoy watching these beautiful graceful yachts before, during and after racing.

“Before and after racing, smaller yachts will be berthed in the various marinas (Largs Yacht Haven, Rhu Marina or Rothesay Harbour) and larger yachts will be moored outside the marinas.
