United's volley good show
Craigie AFC 0 Largs United 1
United travelled to Kilmarnock last Saturday for a James Scott cup-tie against Craigie Amateurs. It was a poor game that never really got going with United doing well to maintain their discipline with some rough tackling from the home side throughout the match.
Sanderson, Hendry and Scott all came close in the final fifteen minutes of the first half but the teams reached the break with neither goal having been breached.
A better second half was evident with Bowie coming close before a McDonald corner was volleyed into the net in spectacular style from Cammy Hendry after an hour.
That proved to the be the only goal of the game and United now turn their attention to the Scottish Cup with premier side Clark Drive visiting town for a 2pm kick off at Bowencraig this Saturday.
Largs United are sponsored by Alison and Robert at The George. The club are also keen to hear from any local businesses who would like to be a match day sponsor in the coming season. Please leave a message on the club phone (07905 479966).
Team: Lamont, Small, Campbell, Bowie, Sanderson (c), McKay, McDonald, Giovino, Scott, Hendry, Tweedie subs: Henry, Rae, Cameron
