Do you support brats or teachers

LARGS teacher Matt George was back at court recently in the latest leg of his marathon bid to plead for a retrial of his convictions for child abuse at the former Kerelaw School.

I understand that the judge has given permission for his new legal team to gain access to documents that, previously, Glasgow District Council refused to provide for his original defence.

It is also a fact that in the build up to his trial efforts by the Largs man to obtain vital reports from Ayr police office was blocked, hampering his attempts to prove his innocence.

Every part of Mr George’s appeal which he is making while on temporary freedom from a ten year jail sentence is painstaking.

What does become more and more obvious as people dig into the murky workings of Glasgow social work department which ran Kerelaw is that it was a shabby organisation where civil servants - no longer there - colluded with police officers to pick on scapegoats over lurid allegations by former inmates.

Some of the chiefs then penned a report making the preposterous claim that FORTY of the staff at Kerelaw were involved in abuse.

You may have noticed that they have just closed St Michael’s, Kenmure - a secure unit school just like Kerelaw - after the recent riot by the poor wee vulnerable weans that we hear so much about.

In this case, instead of blaming the staff and carers who, of course, cannot lay a finger on the residents common sense is prevailing. The brats were behind the trouble.

Many of us - and I believe the silent majority - who do not adhere to political correctness are sure that some former brats of Kerelaw were the real abusers, and not the teachers.

Why would they make false accusations against the likes of Matt George after decades? I point you in the direction of smart solicitors in Glasgow slapping in ‘no win, no fee’ financial claims against the social work department.

Thank goodness there are still some brave individuals who speak out against the miserable, weak people who hide behind 'political correctness' in order to attack those who take on thankless, unappreciated tasks that the pc apologists couldn't and wouldn't do. Some people do the hard work and others simply criticise and complain.
