Love letter found in charity shop
As a charity shop fan, I visited one of my favourite Largs shops last week and have to report my bargain.
On the “2 items for a £1” rail, I found a cashmere jumper and a nice wee honey coloured bomber jacket for myself.
The bonus was in the jacket pocket... a love letter.
It reads:
‘Here I am in the wee small hours. Head full of thoughts of you. Heart full of love for you. As it is I am too happy and content with you to permit the presence of lasting or lingering sadness. I feel like I am “home” with you, a true sense of belonging. I want to be with you forever, I’ve never been surer of anything or anyone.
“In the heights of my happiness, in the depth of my despair, in all the places in between, you are the one person that I long to be with. When I tell you that I love you like I’ve never loved before, I truly mean it. You are the most special person I have ever known and even as I write this I smile and think I am very lucky. There is no one in this world, or any other world, even in imagination, that I would rather be with. I think about you all the time and every thought brings with it a feeling of true love. Thank you for everything, for all. For being as you are and for loving me as I am.”
If either of you two lucky people would like their lovely letter back please apply to the Largs News office, and meanwhile, good luck to you both and thanks for reminding me of bygone days.
