Does anyone know the local police?

Maybe Mr Kenneth Gibson, MSP, our local elected councillors, and, indeed, the Editor of the Wee Paper can inform the gullible public as to how many police officers in Largs are on the beat at any given time.

Getting more bobbies on the beat seems to be the war cry of EVERY political party but where are these phantom bobbies?

Maybe the paper ought also to take a straw poll of how many people can name who is charge of the Largs police division and any officers under his command. The results should be sent to the Chief Constable because I suspect the answers would be next to zero.

Good on reporter Calum Corral (for his eye-witness account of the rail riot) but the notion that this is an isolated incident is ludicrous. The police turn out in force now and again in highly publicised operations but for the most part they are invisible and offer little comfort to law-abiding citizens. The British Transport Police, in particular, are a joke.
