Largs Blooming Lovely group have arranged a special litter pick-up on Sunday afternoon from 2-5pm in a bid to keep the town looking its best for summer visitors coming.
Any group or individual wishing to join the Largs Blooming Lovely group in this very worthwhile activity can contact the Largs Information Bureau. The committee need as many volunteers as possible and it could be fun to get a group of friends or colleagues together to help make Largs even more beautiful. Litter mascot Vik the Viking met up with children from the teenage drop-in Helter Skelter to help promote the event this week (see picture).
Please meet in the Toc H building next to the Brisbane Centre in Bath Street by 2pm to collect equipment and return there to let them know you are finished and return borrowed equipment.
PLease dress appropriately and bring your own protective gloves if possible. When you arrive at the Toch H Centre, you will be assigned an area in which to litter pick.
June Gowland of Largs Blooming Lovely is encouraging local groups and families to get involved. She said: 'We advise that there are no more than four children to any one adult. Children should not be expected to work for three hours - one hour is enough. The Litter Free Campaign and Keep Scotland Beautiful Campaign would like to thank you sincerely for helping us in this worthwhile activity. We really appreciate the fact that you are giving up your time to make Largs more beautiful!'
