Rehearsals are underway for the Gala Show on Saturday 1 October at Barrfields Theatre. The members are being put through their paces by Chris Kelly and Judith McNaught while Irene Cameron is in charge of choreography. Largs Amateur Operatic Society will fill its half hour slot with a selection of songs from the shows. It will be an opportunity for the local groups to showcase their talent.

The production for 2017 is Oklahoma. Rehearsals will commence on Monday 3 October at 7.30pm in Clark Memorial Church Hall. All are welcome. The rehearsals on 3rd, 10th and 17th October are for all cast members. Musical Director David Edwards will lead the musical rehearsals, assisted by Colin Young.

Auditions for Principal roles will be Monday 24 October and possibly also Wednesday 26 October. Auditions will be timetabled on these dates. Candidates will be advised of the musical numbers they should prepare.

Monday 31 October and Monday 7 November will be rehearsals for Principals only. Cast rehearsals will restart on 14 November and continue until 12 December after which there will be a Christmas break. Rehearsals will resume on Monday January 9th 2017.

The members will enjoy a relaxing evening, on Friday 23 September, celebrating 70 years of Largs Amateur Operatic Society with former member, patrons and friends. Those attending the event will enjoy a meal at the Brisbane House Hotel and entertainment from 'A Handful of Harmony'. It is an ideal opportunity to reflect on the shows that the society has produced over the years, reminisce about the hard work, fun and laughter at rehearsals and remember the personalities who have brought the society to life for seven decades
