Attic Players are delighted to announce that tickets for their next production ‘Abigail’s Party’ are now on sale. Set in 1977, this iconic play by Mike Leigh will be performed by the club at Skelmorlie Community Centre on Thursday 10th, Friday 11th and Saturday 12th November, starting at 7.30pm.

The play centres around the home of Beverly and Laurence who have invited Angela and Tony, their new neighbours, round for drinks. Also invited is Susan, whose teenage daughter is throwing a party of her own. As small talk and nibbles flow (remember cheesy pineapple hedgehogs?), alcohol flows even more abundantly and the stresses and tensions of the evening begin to rise. This classic comedy of manners, marital barbs and one-upmanship is, however, brought to an abrupt end when an unexpected and tragic event occurs.

Tickets for the party cost £9 (includes the first refreshment) and can be obtained online from www.ticketsource.co.uk/atticplayers or from several local shops – Bluestone in Largs, the Medical Hall and Premier Store in Skelmorlie and the Wemyss Bay Pharmacy. If there are tickets left on the nights of the performance they will cost £10 on the door. However, Attic Players expect a huge demand for tickets so early purchase is recommended! More details are available from www.atticplayers.com or from the club’s Facebook page.
