Hopscotch’s ‘Aladdin’ is sure to be another 'Genie-us' panto for all the family when it comes to Millport on Saturday.

Glasgow based Hopscotch Theatre Company once again visit the island with their latest show stopping pantomime ‘Aladdin’ which is fast becoming an annual tradition.

It is a tale full of ingenious genies, superior Sultans, trunkloads of treasure, the prettiest princesses and loads of jokes!

The show starts at 2pm at the DA Hall with tickets: £4 (Child) / £6 (Adult), written by Raymond Burke and directed by Ross Stenhouse

The cast includes Ross McAree, David McGowan, Gill McGowan and Louise Montgomery.

Producer Suki McGregor, who lives on Millport, can't wait for the big occasion, and said: “I’m delighted that we can bring this seasonal treat to the island. I’ve spoken to a few local Milllportonians who are already very excited about the panto coming over.

"We are pleased that Millport sweet shop will have on sale juice and sweeties during the interval and Kim McIntyre will have lovely mulled wine and shortbread whilst displaying some of her beautiful craftwork. We are always supported by the Watson family and Andy will again be looking after our lights”

Hopscotch are one of Scotland’s most loved theatre company’s, having toured schools and venues across Scotland for over 27 years!

The theatre company's inimitable style of performance along with their colourful scenery and costumes, original music and songs make them a firm favourite with all the family.

Sadly, this will be Suki’s last production with Hopscotch. After spending 23 years marketing shows and booking tours she’s decided its time to move onto the island permanently.

She said: ‘Aladdin” is the 100th show I’ve worked on and I've met some amazing actors, had an absolute ball. I couldn't have had a more enjoyable job but now its time to find a wee job in Millport, plant some seeds and watch them grow – should have been Jack & the Beanstaock this year!!
