Skelmorlie is welcoming a contestant from BBC's 'The Voice' to perform at this Sunday's Christmas Extravaganza in the village.

Londoner Janine Dyer, a gospel and RnB singer, is set to perform at the event at 5.45pm and visitors are welcome.

There will also be live animals, a nativity scene, traditional carol singing, and hot mince pies at the event.

The event is being hosted by Strathclyde Apartments which is based at 31-35 Shore Road.

Having once performed backing vocals for Shola Ama and Chaka Khan, when Janine was in Raymond & Co, she also won a MOBO award for Best Gospel Group and even toured America.

Her soulful performance of Simon & Garfunkel’s ‘Bridge Over Troubled Water” was one of the memorable highlights of the popular television show.
