Rachel Scott is playing the part of Laurey Williams in the Largs Amateur Operatic production of “Oklahoma!" this month. Laurey is a very headstrong and stubborn 18 year old girl who refuses to admit to everyone around her that she and Curley McLain are madly in love with each other, but of course she gives in in the end!

Rachel became a member of the society two years ago. She played the part of Helen Walsingham in the 2015 production of “Half A Sixpence”. Her character was dumped by Arthur Kipps in favour of his first love Anne. As Perón’s Mistress in the 2016 production of “Evita” Rachel found herself thrown out on the street by Eva Perón. Rachel is over the moon this year as finally she gets the man!

As well as singing, Rachel plays the piano and the flute. She is currently studying the BEd Music at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, specialising in voice as her first study. Fitting in the rehearsals has been very hard work with travelling and studying!

Rachel is looking forward to playing the part of Laurey as it is a role she has aspired to play from a very young age. Now she finally has the chance and she couldn’t be happier!
