Largs Live has an astonishing 127 gigs during its marvellous musical of a weekend from 23-25 June.

There’s something for everyone from bands and street entertainment to kid’s shows and face-painting.

This year street entertainment offers more than ever with some fantastic new acts, whether your preference is folk, rock, ceilidh, pop or traditional Scottish Largs Live has it all.

The Skunnered return after their hugely popular street gigs last year to bring their fantastic folk/rock sound to the stage in Tron Place; with four live shows on Saturday and four on Sunday.

Another outdoor venue, right in the centre of town, outside TSB in Largs Main Street features the ceilidh band Celtic Soundz on the Saturday and Artistic Licence, a pop and rock group on the Sunday. Again, these bands will perform four times each.

After a successful debut last year, street opera returns for 2017 with students from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, who will be performing four 30 minute stets at Largs Pier Head on both the Saturday and Sunday.

Morrisons supermarket will be joining in too, when they host the Millport Pipe Band on Sunday June 25.

Largs favourites, The McDougall’s, are back with two completely different shows for the children. On Saturday it’s Creature and Critters, so why not being your little ones along dressed as animals to join in with the musical monkey business.

On the Sunday their show is entitled Time Travel, kids of all ages are encouraged to dress up as explorers! The will be four shows on Saturday and Sunday, which will be staged at The Brisbane Centre in Bath Street.

The Face-painting Fairies will be joining the McDougall’s at the Brisbane Centre between 1pm and 4pm on both days as they prepare to perform some magical make-up transformations.

This year’s musical mix has 20 venues and a whole host of entertainment which is kick started at McCabes at 5.30pm on Friday June 23, running through until the last show at Fiddlers at midnight on Sunday June 25.
