The next Largs Players spectacular will have plenty of youth on parade when they present West End musical, 'Gypsy' in Barrfields Pavilion Theatre from October 5 to 7.

Some of the talented teenagers who have starred in Largs Academy shows in recent years such as Jordin Revel, Euan Barker and Finlay Quinn will be well supported by members of the Youth Theatre who have been recruited for the colourful show by director Ruairidh Forde and musical director Ryan Moir.

Kirsty Campbell is to star as Gypsy Rose Lea with Gill Sullivan and Karen Wilkin as her showbiz daughters, and Allan Milligan in the main male role.

The musical - considered as one of the best ever American theatre stories - contains many songs that became popular standards, including "Everything's Coming up Roses", "Together (Wherever We Go)", "Small World", "You Gotta Get a Gimmick", "Let Me Entertain You", "All I Need Is the Girl", and "Rose's Turn".

The music of Jule Styne with lyrics by the legendary Stephen Sondheim is frequently described as one of the crowning achievements of the mid-20th century's conventional musical theatre art form, often called the "book musical".

Tickets are on sale at The Largs Players and www.ticketsource.co.uk.
