A special charity fundraiser is taking place in Largs to mark the sixth anniversary of the death of teenager Channan Sangha at the tender age of 18.

Channan died of chronic asthma, and was on steroid tablets for 13 years, spending lengthy spells in hospital.

Natalie Sweeney, who was best friends with Channan ever since Kelburn Primary, is one of the main organisers behind the charity night which takes place in Lounge bar/restaurant on Friday 20 April - it will be a cocktail and entertainment night on behalf of Asthma UK and Glasgow Children's Hospital Charity (formally Yorkhill Children's Foundation).

Tickets are £10 and there will be raffle tickets available on the night as well as Channan Cosmopolitans available or purchase at the bar with 50p of every cocktail going straight to Glasgow Children's Hospital Charity.

Natalie said: "This year we have decided to shake things up a bit and get a band for a night of live music. Tickets are £10 which includes a quiz and the Lovelles. the Lovelles - fronted by dynamic vocalist Stephanie Lavelle are bringing a fresh look and sound that the Scottish function scene has been missing. Brothers Paul & Andrew McShane take care of the Guitar and Bass and drummer David Beaton completes the band behind the kit!

"The night starts at 7.15 with a quiz MC'd by Natalie Sweeney followed by a raffle with prizes generously donated by local people and businesses. The Lovelles will then take to the stage at 9pm for a night of dancing.

"This will be the 6th year and this year we hope to reach the £12K total."
