North Ayrshire Council have claimed that the volume of water coming off the Largs hills was chiefly to blame for the recent flooding - NOT their maintenance of the town's watercourses.
Residents and local councillors alike demanded action from the council to clear the Gogo Burn after floods swept through Largs in late September, bringing devastation to the town centre's properties.
However the local authority has now insisted that clearance of debris from Largs rivers was not the main issue.
