The West Kilbride Scarecrow Festival looks doomed after a public meeting last week in the town.
This year's event had to be cancelled, after running successfully in the town for several yars, with hopes that it might be re-launched in 2012.
But in a letter which appears in this week's Largs and Millport Weekly News, chairman of the festival, Jurie Duvenage, said that a decision was taken to disband the committee.
