Some readers of the Largs & Millport Weekly News have defended fuel prices in the town.
However, others have continued to submit views that the costs at the 'For Sale' Castlebay Filling Station in Irvine Road are too high.
One reader, calling himself Douglas Park stated: It's a shame that the present owners have run into financial difficulties, but given it was one of the most expensive service stations in the area it's not entirely surprising.
"Unless you've no concept of fuel prices, I could only imagine it was used by locals who only drove locally, or, as I have done in the past, put 5 in and then driven out of town to fill up while they're on other business. "
Two pages of letters and views are in the Largs News of February 8.
