A Fairlie resident has evidence of the regular coal dust clouds created at the Clydeport terminal at Hunterston.
In a letter to the Largs & Millport Weekly News, Mr David McCarthy of Castlepark Drive, Fairlie sent the accompanying picture and comments.
"Following the report by Calum Corral I attach a photo I took while out with my family some three weeks ago, walking along the beach at Fairlie.
"This is not an unusual site and I can assure you this is a regular occurrence that blights the residents of Fairlie, blackening our houses windows and health."
