A Largs dog owner has warned that global warming will cause more flooding at the Noddle Burn.

In a letter to the Largs & Millport News Mrs Maureen Muir stated: "One thing that has been noticeable over the last decade is the increase in how often the river is in spate and the height of the water when this happens. Common sense says it's down to global warming - there are plenty of signs that we're going to be getting more rain and heavier bursts.

"It seems to me that the flood problem has also got progressively worse the more building there is in the Glen. If we keep on altering the hydrology of the burn's drainage area then this is inevitable. We know that more water is running out of the new developments and flowing down the roads and drains and into the Noddleburn."
