A Largs man has challenged his local MSP over his stance on NATO.
In a letter to the Largs & Millport Weekly News Mr Edward McGowan accused Cunninghame North MSP Kenneth Gibson and the SNP Government of hyporcisy concerning nuclear weapons.
He stated: "Mr Gibson claims that "independence will deliver Scotland from nuclear weapons". Is this the same SNP who have ditched their opposition to NATO and instead wish to adopt a pro-NATO stance?
"I wonder if Mr Gibson and the SNP Government realise that one of the prime concepts in NATO's policy of nuclear deterrence is nuclear sharing."
Mr McGowan's full statement and a page of views is contained in the Largs & Millport Weekly News of August 15.
