A motorist has written to the Largs & Millport Weekly News calling for a ban on cyclists on part of the A78 trunk road.
Mr Paul Hutchon stated: "In response to the story last week about a new cycle track for Wemyss Bay, I was just talking to a friend that cyclists should be restricted from between the Meigle and Largs. There should be a sign at Meigle saying ‘road unsuitable for cyclists’ and turn up to take the red road to Largs.
"Through the Ashcraig bends there is simply no room, and no vision to see and negotiate cyclists safely. Personally, I think they are a little bit selfish cycling along there, they put themselves and other road users in danger. It is a 60mph road, with blind bends and no verge, yet it is deemed safe for cyclists." Full page of views and letters in the Largs & MIllport News.
