Firth of Clyde Coastal Rowing Club is hosting an open day which takes place between 10am-4pm at the RNLI slip in Largs on Saturday 17th May.

The event will mark the re-launch of Saltire after being out of the water for winter to do modifications and touch ups. The open day is also to promote the club, offer the public a chance to row in the skiff (weather permitting for public rowing) and to pull in old and new members to kick start the season off and expand the club. Membership forms will be available and anyone who would like more information can emailfoccrclub.secretary@gmail.com. There will be activities for all.

You can find the group on Facebook at ‘Firth Of Clyde Coastal Rowing Club’.

It is also a very sociable club with events throughout the summer months taking advantage of the excellent views of the Clyde, and further afield throughout Scotland.

The Firth of Clyde Coastal Rowing group launched its first community skiff last year - the Saltire - and is now looking to build a second community boat but needs a flotilla of volunteers for its next mission. The group have already had great success and competed in the World Skiff Championships in Ullapool. The construction of the boats take place at Fairlie Quay.
