WORLD renowned golfer Sam Torrance has said farewell to his famous father with a dram of whisky.
At an overcrowded funeral service, attended by hundreds, at Greenock Crematorium on Thursday Ryder Cup hero Sam raised a whisky as he saw off his dad Bob who died of cancer at the age of 82.
Top golfers like Padraig Harrington and Paul McGinley joined other celebrities, family and friends at a service for the acclaimed golf coach. The golf range at Inverclyde Sports Centre in Largs is called the Bob Torrance school.
Sam told the congregation that he had sneaked a wee drink of his dad's dram but he said that his dad had been a joker.
Bob is survived by wife June, Sam and grandchildren.
