New North Ayrshire MP Patricia Gibson has backed calls for a hillside area to be cleared up after a dog suffered a cut ear at the Greeto Falls beauty spot in Largs.

Kirsty McGregor of Paton Quadrant was taking her Dalmatian to the Greeto Falls area, and was shocked when her four-year-old pet suffered an injury.

She posted pictures of blood pouring from the ear of four year old Marley on the ‘Largs People’ social media site, and received a furious reaction from other users on the site, who have rallied round to support Kirsty. They agreed efforts need to be made to clean up the ‘Gretas’, as it is referred to locally.

MP Patricia Gibson responded: “I have raised the concerns about Greeto Falls urgently with NAC and a team is to be dispatched by the council to deal with this. I pointed out the dangers lurking in this vicinity and that a dog had been injured. I will be putting my concerns about this matter in writing to the council, following this conversation and have also pointed out community concerns expressed about the Haylie Brae view point, up the old Greenock Road. I hope to see this matter resolved soon and will continue to press it on behalf of concerned residents.

“If this continues to be an issue I would urge local residents to contact me at patricia.gibson.mp@parliament.uk” Full story and pictures in page 3 of this week's Largs News.
