A woman has been taken on a helicopter to hospital, after suffering a fall on the back hills of Largs on Monday morning.
Photos on social media showed that a rescue helicopter had landed on top of the 'Quad Rocks' area of the town at around midday, as two rescuers provided a stretcher at the scene According to reports, a woman is believed to have broken her ankle..
Eye-witness Ian Dalglish said: "There were some people on the hill to the right of the helicopter. They were making their way towards the helicopter.
"The helicopter then took off and hovered over the group of people. One was winched up then the helicopter flew off."
An ambulance was also waiting in the Bellesdale Avenue area of Largs.
