Between May to July, Hunterston B Power Station has hosted over 850 visitors to their Visitor Centre.

These have included groups from Scouts, Cubs, secondary and primary school pupils.

The tour takes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes, and includes the reactor viewing gallery and the turbine hall viewing gallery

The visitor centre was opened by Scottish Energy Minister Fergus Ewing in August 2012, and has recently been awarded a 5 star rating from VisitScotland.

At present, the station currently employs 550 staff, including 25 apprentices. In their quarterly report, presented at the site stakeholders group at West Kilbride Community Centre, EDF reported that they are currently recruiting for systems engineers, procurement engineers and quality engineers.
