SNP Finance Minister John Swinney MP is visiting Largs on Saturday morning.

The high profile MSP is visiting the new SNP shop in Gallowgate Lane for its official opening.

The opening is due to take place at approximately 11.15am.

SNP Convenor for North Ayrshire, Steve Graham said: "We have had the SNP shop open for some time, and we found out that John Swinney was in the local area, and invited him along to officially open the shop. We are delighted that John has managed to fit it in to his busy schedule to come along."

The former SNP leader last visited Largs when he took part in the Finance Committee of the Scottish Parliament meeting which was held at the Brisbane House Hotel two years ago, and chaired by local MSP Kenneth Gibson.

John Swinney is the MSP for Perthshire North and is currently Cabinet Secretary for Finance, Employment and Sustainable Growth in the Scottish Government.

At the election in May 2011, John was re-elected with 18,219 votes, and a majority of 10,353. John's vote was the second highest in Scotland, second only to First Minister, Alex Salmond MSP.
