The children in the Early Years class at St Mary's Primary are enjoying all the experiences relating to our new topic 'Materials'.
They are exploring the story of the 'Three Little Pigs' and have been building our own houses using straw, sticks and wood, in order to find out how strong, waterproof and durable these materials are. The story provides many opportunities to write letters/stories; the mark making and writing skills of some of the children are amazing!
The school are hoping for some reasonable weather so that pupils can build larger houses outside using a variety of tools and materials that they have never used before - it is very exciting!
