The Largs First Responders recently hosted a fish tea dance fundraiser at Nardini’s Cafe in Largs and it proved to be a big success.

The voluntary support service provide crucial support by responding to medical emergencies while the ambulance is on its way.

Speaking about the big Nardini’s event, James Bertram of the First Responders said: “It was a brilliant night with 170 people present. The atmosphere was fantastic and we had an excellent band called “No Contract” who are well known in Largs. Local businesses were very generous with raffle prizes and we will be writing to them individually to thank them but I would like to thank all of them via the Largs & Millport News for their tremendous support and for the support of those who help us throughout the year. A total of £1900 was raised.”

* The Largs First Responders believe they have come up with a UK first by coming up with their own fundraising calendar.

It includes important information, hints and tips, regarding health, and emergencies, and how to deal with difficult situations. It’s on sale at Goody2Shoes and The Gypsy Cream coffee shop in Largs, and calendars will be on sale on Largs Yuletide Night on Thursday 3 December.
