Largs and Millport were both treated to a visit by the Hebridean Princess on a Saturday afternoon, earlier this month.
In 2015, the Hebridean Princess, a small, luxury five star cruise ship, has visited the Isle of Man, Northern Ireland, Wales and the Republic of Ireland, The Channel Islands, The Isles of Scilly and north France.
Former 'News' photographer Grahame Ross asked on Facebook: "Is the Hebridean Princess the biggest ship to berth at the pier? Had to enlarge the image as I only had my phone so not top quality!
Largs man Harry McEachan responded: " I'm sure there was a story from the archives, that a 15,000 ton cargo ship, anchored out in the river, dragged her anchor and drifted across to Largs, where she neatly berthed herself on the pier. A big surprise to all, but no damage done."
