The masonic lodge has been existence in Largs for centuries, so it is only fair that it is moving with the times, with an online website detailing activities and events at the club.

Right Worshipful Master Andrew Park explained: "Here we hope to keep our members and visitors up to date with our masonic and social activities. We also hope that it will give non-members an opportunity to see what we are doing in the local community, and provide them with further information."

Not many organisations in the town can boost a full list of officials dating back to 1860, but that is exactly what the website www.st-john-kilwinning-largs-173.masonic-lodge.org.uk does. For the record, the past master in 1860-62 was J.Houston. The masonic lodge has been based in Frazer Street, Largs, since 1910.

But the website goes even further back to 1767 when the local masons received Charter from Mother Kilwinning

The original charter of the Lodge was granted on the 21st of December 1767 by the Mother Lodge of Kilwinning. The Lodge was recorded under the name of “Largs Kilwinning”, No.67 on the roll of Mother Kilwinning daughter Lodges. The charter was signed by Claud Thomson, Master of the Mother Lodge of Kilwinning.

The website also has a photo gallery, and details of the social club.
