Moorburn Manor’s staff, residents and visitors have been fundraising at various events over the year to celebrate its 25th Anniversary.

Moorburn resident Marie Strachan presented a cheque for £927.00 to members of Largs & District Carers Group.

Secretary of Largs & District Carers Group, Eileen Anderson congratulated all involved in the fundraising efforts, “Being a home carer can be a lonely and very stressful job therefore Moorburn’s most generous donation will be put to good use and for this we are very grateful.”

Nurse manager Marie Cosgrove said, “Many of Moorburn’s past and present residents’ families have been supported by the carers group. They provide a much needed source of information and support for carers throughout the area.”

A cheque was also presented by resident Phamie Inglis to two local special children Jack Uppington and Lewis Harkins for £1854.00 to enable them to have a fun day out.

The jockeys, including managing director Rob Jones, entertained the residents and visitors by racing their hobby horses around the race course.

Moorburn Manor Nursing Home is a family owned business now in its second generation, based in Moorburn Road, Largs.
