Sailings are cancelled for the Cumbrae-Largs ferry throughout Monday.
The decision was taken at 6.32am, due to the impending Storm Henry as gusts are predicted to reach between 70-90mph in coastal areas.
It had been suggested on Sunday evening that the ferry service would be on amber alert on Monday, but an early decision was taken on the Monday to cancel the service.
A smaller vessel has been operating on the service as MV Loch Shira is undergoing her annual refit, and is due to return to service this week.
