The last time the prestigious County Cup Competition was contested between the A B C of the Clyde - Arran, Bute and Cumbrae was way back in the 1980's. However, due to a revival of interest in the "roarin' game" by Arran, the three islands competed at Greenacres Curling Rink on Wednesday 27 January 2016.

A total of 12 players from each of the three clubs took part in a fiercely fought bonspiel which resulted in a victory for Cumbrae. Whilst coming in in 3rd place, Arran were undaunted and promised that they would return next year having had lots more practise.

It was unanimously agreed that this unique event was enjoyed by all and carried out in the true spirit of curling.
