AFTER her cousin passed away from Type one Diabetes, Alice Donaldson from Skelmorlie, decided to start a fundraising campaign in her memory called 'Ohanas wish.'

Alice's cousin, Ish died at just 23 years of age, last July as a result of complications with her condition. This was a massive shock for her family as it was totally unexpected.

They have been campaigning since November 2015 and this February 19 they will host their very own concert - SHINE - at Barrfields.

Speaking about the event Alice said: "My cousin was incredibly supportive of my singing and performing so as a result of this myself and my mum wanted to do something that would raise a lot of money and awareness as well as giving back the opportunity to the many local musicians who have helped and supported me in the past year."

There are many local musicians and acts lining up to perform next month including: Brownbear, Sean C Kennedy, Chloe Marie, Josh Fraser, Alan Howie, Craig Smith who runs Upbeats and Largs academy Senior choir and Alice herself.

Ronnie McGhie from Irvine Beat Radio will be the MC for the night which will be filled with talent and raise awareness for a great cause
