One half of Gallagher and Lyle, Benny Gallagher returned for a homecoming gig on Sunday evening in Largs, and performed some of the band's much loved songs.

It was a sell-out event at Lounge restaurant to an appreciative crowd who joined in with the singing, and Benny has a second show on Monday.

Benny praised both Largs Academy and Largs Players for their talent and expertise, and revealed when he told his school teacher he wanted to be a singer, he was offered a paintbrush, and told to get painting, such was the lack of enthusiasm towards the arts when he was young!

And he made a special point of praising the audiences who come out and support musicians at gigs, and said that that backing was crucial for Gallagher and Lyle's development. Benny was supported by young female support act, The Mermaids, from Troon, and they also joined him for the popular Gallagher and Lyle hit 'Heart on My Sleeve'.

Benny teased that there was a big surprise coming up in their forthcoming theatre show 'When I'm Dead And Gone' about their lives, but wouldn't divulge!
