Largs is punching above its weight in terms of competing with major tourism attractions to bring large numbers of visitors to the area.
That is the opinion of Largs BID manager John Hamilton who said he was pleased with the impact of national television advertising to promote the town.
He said that promotional leaflets were being distributed to key locations across the west of Scotland and in Glasgow to boost the town's profile.
The BID announced earlier this month that they are adding to their list of events including Largs Live music festival, Yuletide and Food Festival, with a classic car rally on Sunday 31 July.
And Cunninghame North MSP Kenneth Gibson has praised the BID for bringing a range of spectacular events to the area.
Kenneth said: "The Scottish Government is working closely with North Ayrshire Council, and it is great to see that the BID is being very innovative and imaginative to try and improve things in Largs and that is what the BID was all about to improve their local environment and local people taking decision to improve the area and generate more money for local businesses. These improvements will make a significant improvement in years ahead and attract more visitors to spend money in the town, It is about ensuring Largs remains a focal points for tourism and visitors in the north coast.
"And it is a combination of things - this fantastic sports facility which will be opening at Inverclyde will bring many visitors to the town, and when you think about the moves being made to improve the waterfront area with the Largs Masterplan of developments, I am really optimistic about the future for Largs."
John Hamilton said: "Our promotional leaflets will be based at strategic locations for people visiting Greater Glasgow, M6 service stations in Cumbria - the gateway approaches to Ayrshire and to Dumfries and Galloway, and the A6 corridor. They will also be in places such as Buchannan Galleries, and Hampden Park football stadium, and the tv advertising
central belt covering an audience of up to 3.5m people.
"We had a core 30 second ad which showed what Largs has to offer and two 10s stings for Largs Live Food Festival and Largs Live, and likewise, we will be advertising Largs on the television again, with another commercial for the classic car rally event."
And Mr Hamilton stated that if it wasn't for the BID, then major events such as the food festival and Largs Live would simply not happen, and it was important to support these events.
The promotional leaflets will include details of festival events in the town, as well as information about locations such as Kelburn and Largs Yacht Haven.
Last year, Largs Live and food festivals generated a total of £637,000 in business for the town according to IBP Strategy and Research.
This year's Largs Food Fest takes place on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 May, and Largs Live
