There was high acclaim for the 70th anniversary Largs Operatic production at Barrfields Theatre of the Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice spectacular 'Evita'.
The show gained rapturous applause and standing ovations for each showing from Wednesday to Saturday, including an afternoon matinee showing on Saturday.
Archie Burleigh wrote a letter to the Largs News to lavish praise: "A truly memorable show with the principal characters ably supported by a well disciplined chorus of time served amateurs. The pit orchestra is also worthy of special mention as it kept a tight rein on some very tricky musical passages.
Ruth Hutchinson as Eva and Andy Park as Juan Peron were peerless in their musicality and enactment of the leading roles and the demanding playlist. Jamie Thomson as the Narrator and Eva’s alter ego Che put in a remarkable Bohemian style interpretation of his marathon part.
All in all it was a great great show and the cast and production team can be extremely proud of their achievement.
"Long may it continue."
