Life was a beach for the the West Kilbride shore litter clear-up on Saturday which had a great turn-out off all ages on Saturday.
A special mention should go to the children of West Kilbride Primary, Boys Brigade, Rotary, YWAM, Civic Society, Friends Of Portencross Castle, Community Service Team and all the enthusiastic beach helpers.
The weather was cold but sunny and after the litter pick the Waterside restaurant provided refreshments, and at Portencross car park there was soup (Laura's) and millionaire shortbread courtesy of Greggs.
Audrey Kolon said: "Thanks to Helen Miller of NAC Streetscene and Jim Paton of West Kilbride Golf Club for their support. All in all it was a great effort and a total of 271 large bin bags were filled and the beach between Portencross and the Waterside looks fantastic!"
