The Fairlie Yacht Club Tuesday evening race series has now seen the third evening race with the first being abandoned due to too much wind, the second featuring light winds and calm seas and the third reverting to windier and more challenging conditions.

The second race saw close racing in Class 2 and the 4 to 7 knot wind saw Mark Bradshaw in Buzy Beaver take first place on corrected time from long term racing man Dave Stewart in Iapetus. Mallie, with Ken McLelland and the team, took third place and the finish under spinnakers in the setting sun showed The Largs Channel at its best. Less than 5 minutes separated all 7 Class two yachts in a closely fought evening.

The third race on Tuesday saw winds of 15 to 30 knots providing a different challenge and once again Buzy Beaver took first place with second going to Iain Cameron in his new boat Honey Bee. This gives 4 Moody 336 craft sailing in the class and close completion is anticipated. Ubiquity took the third place with Mallie and Iapetus dropping to 4 and 5 respectively on the strong winds.

Classes 3 and 4 are off to a slower start with only Gimmick and Zebedee turning out so far and Gimmick taking 1st place overall in the results table.

In Class 4 Keith Agnew in Prospero shows he is a hard man to beat and with Prospero, Suilven and Solus the three currently showing in this class he will be a hard man to beat.
