It looks like it is going to be a 'Supermarket Sweep' for defibrillators in Largs.

Largs First Responders recently carried out a demonstration event and fundraiser with Tesco Express to put a defibrillator outside their store in Aitken Street. It is the latest defibrillator planned for the town after recent installations at Morrison's Supermarket and The George Hotel.

First Responders chairman James Bertram said: "Ultimately this will save a life in Largs. We are going to save somebody here, and that is just amazing, and it will bring so many benefits in future."

"Having these defibrillators in place means that the whole of the shopping district will be covered, with a total of four 'defibs' with wall mounted cabinets, which are fully heated, so that day or night, all year round, you can grab it out of the cabinet."

The other defibrillator is set to be based at Co-op on Largs seafront with another fundraising initiative taking place there. A number of CPR defib demonstration events which were free to the public, courtesy of Largs First Responders, recently took place in the cafeteria area of Morrison's supermarket.
