Scotland might not have qualified for the Euros 2016, but a group of Largs teenagers will be taking part in a televised international football tournament representing Scotland.

A total of 13 boys from Largs Colts 2002s will be flying from Edinburgh to Oslo on the 30 July to take part in the 44th Norway Cup.

This is largest international youth football tournament in the world. Last year 1639 teams travelled to Oslo to take part in the week long events. This year the boys will have the opportunity to play teams from Mexico, Brazil, Germany, Ghana and South Korea.

Morris McTaggart (Colts Manager) is accompanying the boys along with coach Andy Smith and a number of supporters.

Morris said: "This is a great opportunity for the kids to experience Norwegian culture and enjoy the friendship and sporting traditions of international football. The boys recognise they are positive ambassadors for Scotland. Playing football at this level, in such a renowned tournament will be the trip of a lifetime for all of us".

The Colts boys, friends and family took part in a sponsored cycle on Millport this morning - 2x round the island to raise funds for their trip to Oslo on 30 July.

The tournament has major media coverage with 50-60 countries taking part and, as well as around 900 media representatives, matches are also covered live on Norway's main sports channel.

Youth Football Scotland will have their own media representatives at the event providing reports back to those interested in following the progress.

As Colts are representing Youth Football Scotland specially commissioned Scotland strips will be provided to every member of the squad.
